Clubul Sportiv Școlar Călărași a luat ființă la 01 septembrie 1966 prin constituirea secției de handbal masculin, pe langa Liceul nr. 2, cu 2 grupe formate din de 40 elevi pregătiți de profesorul Neagu C. Ion.
La 1 septembrie 1971 Școala Sportivă Călărași devine unitate independentă, conform Ordinului Ministerului Invatamantului nr. 9857/15 iulie 1971, având ca director pe prof. Neagu C. Ion.
Iată, în continuare, care sunt reperele anuale ale activității noastre atât în ceea ce privește evoluția secțiilor sportive, a profesorilor și antenorilor ce și-au desfășurat activitatea în cadrul clubului, precum și cele mai semnificative rezultate ale sportivilor noștri.
